What is ACTIVATE?

How does it work?

ACTIVATE’s vitamins and herbs are stored as powder in a chamber inside the cap. When you twist the cap clockwise, a small plastic blade cuts the seal in the chamber. Simultaneously, a small armature opens the chamber allowing the ingredients to drop into the water below.

Why keep the ingredients separate in the cap?

Vitamins and other healthful ingredients deteriorate sitting in water. Storing the ingredients separate inside the cap keeps them fresh until the moment they’re released, for maximum potency.

Where did the idea for this beverage originate?

For the founders, taking vitamins every day had become more hassle than it was worth. Swallowing horse pills was uncomfortable and hard to remember. Dumping supplement powders into water bottles was just messy and awkward. The cap was envisioned as a new form of ingredient delivery.

How many products does ACTIVATE currently sell?

There are four products, each with a separate functional benefit and flavor, including: Vitamin = Fruit punch, Immunity = Orange, Antioxidant = Berry, Energy = Lemon lime

Who developed the ingredients and flavors?

The flavors were developed in concert with the founders’ vision and are produced by one of the country’s top flavor houses – which has a beverage roster filled with high profile brands that are quite impressive.

How does ACTIVATE taste?

The flavors are light and crisp, with the perfect amount of sweetness. There’s no tart vitamin taste or heavy syrupy flavor.

What type of water does ACTIVATE use?

The water is purified. We chose purified water instead of spring water because it ensures a consistent taste, regardless of the bottling location.

How long does the product last once it has been mixed?

Our studies show that the longer the vitamins sit in water, the less effective they become. So drinking the product soon after being mixed is recommended.

I’ve heard some negative things about Splenda (sucralose). Should I be concerned?

There’s some unfounded negative press about Splenda (sucralose) online. However, the safety of Splenda (sucralose) is well documented in more than 100 scientific studies conducted over a 20-year period. It is made through a process that starts with sugar and converts it to a no calorie sweetener. The product has been available in international markets for more than 13 years and is a key ingredient in 4,500 food and beverage products.

What is the company’s philosophy on environmental concerns?

We initially tried to use biodegradable plastic (made from corn) for our bottles. This
option was not shelf-stable for more than 2 weeks, allowing outside influences to taint our products. We’ll be on the lookout for more environmentally conscience ways to package and produce our products on an ongoing basis.

ACTIVATE will be launched in southern California in early 2008, with distribution continuing into other markets during 2008. The suggested retail price is $2.29 per bottle.
